This 1956 Rikuo 750 Flathead is a fascinating part of Harley Davidson history, built in Japan using Harley Davidson tooling and under licence. The story began during the Great Depression, when Harley Davidson agreed to supply machinery and licensing rights to Japanese company Sankyo Seiyako Corporation to produce Harley-based motorcycles locally.
The resulting motorcycles carried the Rikuo name, roughly translated as “King of the Road.” Production continued in Japan for decades, including military, police and courier versions, with civilian production continuing into the 1950s.

Showing just 11,164 km, this matching numbers example remains very original, retaining all of its original parts with the exception of the seat. Unlike the Harley Davidson WLA, the Rikuo 750 was fitted with a four speed transmission.
The paintwork is in very nice restored condition and the bike has been on display for many years. It is not currently running, although it was running a few years ago and has simply not been recommissioned. It has very good compression.
The tyres will require replacement.
