Overview

1984 Kawasaki KR250 – Rare Two-Stroke Icon

A Road Bike Born from Racing Success

To celebrate Kawasaki’s four-year domination of the lightweight 250cc Grand Prix class, the KR250 was created as a road-going tribute to the championship-winning race machines of Kork Ballington and Anton Mang. Launched locally as the KR250A1, it was designed for the hotly contested 250cc Production class, going head-to-head with the Suzuki RG250 and Yamaha RZ250.

With a dry weight of 134 kg, the KR250 sat neatly between its rivals and produced a very competitive 24.5 kW at the rear wheel, making it a serious contender in its day.
