The Africa Twin is based on the legendary Honda NXR-750, which won the Paris-Dakar Rally four times in the late 1980s. Built in homage to those desert racers, the XRV750 is a large dual-sport motorcycle powered by a tuned V-twin engine designed for durability, torque, and long-distance capability.
Design and Features
Distinctive features include twin headlights, a windscreen, and a long dual seat that runs from the fuel tank to an aluminium grab rail. An aluminium bash plate protects the underside of the engine, while the long-travel suspension with air-valve adjustable damping insulates the rider from uneven terrain. Braking is handled by twin front discs and a single rear disc, all with Nissin callipers.
RD07/A Evolution
The 1993 RD07 update introduced a new box-section steel frame, revised bodywork, fuel tank, engine modifications, and a lower seat height. Further improvements arrived in 1996 with the RD07/A update, including an improved seat and clutch, a larger silencer, modified upper fairing and windscreen, and a redesigned luggage rack—features all present on this model.
