Notable Features and Pricing
Condition
Showing 22,166 miles, the bike is in excellent overall condition. The fairings are free from any cracks or breaks, and the paint presents very well with only a couple of small decal chips on the side fairings and a single scratch on the fuel tank. There is also a small dent at the front of the tank that is difficult to photograph.
The original mufflers are fitted and remain in excellent condition, with no road rash and only a couple of minor dents.
Model Background
Unveiled at the end of 1999, the RC51 (VTR1000 SP1) was Honda's purpose built V-twin superbike, developed to compete directly with Ducati in World Superbike racing. Designed from the ground up by HRC, it shared nothing with the earlier VTR1000 Firestorm and featured premium engineering such as gear driven camshafts and the attention to detail that made earlier homologation models like the RC30 and RC45 so highly regarded. The SP1 combined race focused performance with Honda reliability, becoming one of the most significant superbikes of its era.
Mechanical Condition
The bike starts, runs and rides without issue, with all electrics functioning correctly. It is fitted with Bridgestone tyres showing approximately 90% tread and has a near new battery.
